Victor T. Gouché
Victor T. Gouché was a brother, musician, songwriter, poet, prayer warrior and author. His life took a devastating turn on November 3, 2005, when he was the victim of a senseless shooting, that left him paralyzed, with little chance to live. But his resilience, was his saving grace. His doctors gave him a 2% chance of seeing another day, but Victor lived an additional two decades. He dedicated his time praying for others, sharing the good news of Jesus, and helping others in need. He believed God saved him to help others, and a year before he transitioned, he worked with his older brother, Nick J. Gouche, to research the thousands of young black men, whose lives were cut short by inner city violence, and Victor was inspired to humanize their stories, along with the grieving families left to suffer the heartbreak of a lost child. Gone Before Dawn, a collection of poems of young black boys gone too soon, was his gift to the world, as he hoped to serve as an inspiration to save our young black boys.
